**Volunteer 5K Planning Assistant position overview**

We are seeking an enthusiastic and organized volunteer to assist with the planning and execution of the Arts and Heart 5K. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to a meaningful community event aimed at raising essential funds for our programs. The position is ideal for anyone, including retired professionals, who want to use their skills and experience to give back to the community in a rewarding way.

Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the event planning team to coordinate logistics, including venue setup, registration, and route planning.
- Assist in recruiting and coordinating volunteers for race day activities.
- Help manage communication with sponsors, vendors, and participants, ensuring timely updates and information.
- Support marketing efforts, including social media outreach and community engagement.
- Participate in planning meetings and assist in tracking project timelines and goals.
- Be available on race day to provide on-site support and help ensure a smooth, successful event.

Qualifications:
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team and independently when needed.
- Passion for community engagement and event planning.
- Availability for planning meetings during the week (Mondays - Fridays) between 9am - 12pm, with possible exceptions.
- Availability for the Arts and Heart 5K event day. (April 5th, 2025)

This event will begin with the start off of our 5k at 7:00am, and continue with our wellness event until 11:30am.

**In Person volunteer position overview**

Volunteers are needed for the following positions
- Hydration Stations
- Parking
- Welcome Desk
- Setting up / Breaking Down
- Holding 5k Signs
- Monitoring kid zone

We will be meeting at Lake Lorna Doone Park, positions will be assigned before hand so that instructions can be given with time, volunteers are asked to dress in comfortable clothing as this will take place outdoors. Volunteers will be given a volunteer shirt to help distinguish between participants and Volunteers.
